SUMMARY:SHARE Spring 2026 Meeting
DESCRIPTION:From 21 to 24 April 2026\, the SHARE meeting will take place in Lausanne\, Switzerland. On the first day of the meeting\, the focus will be on the exchange of experiences among national teams during the testing phase\, as well as on coordinating future activities related to the preparation of Wave 11 of the survey. The second day will feature a workshop dedicated to methodological topics\, including issues of response and non-response in the SHARE survey\, as well as an overview of tools aimed at reducing participant attrition in longitudinal studies. Part of the workshop will be devoted to group work with the aim of defining the next steps in the further development of SHARE. On the third day\, discussions will focus on the final reports for Wave 10 of the survey. Updates related to multimodal data collection and the financial situation of SHARE will also be presented. The meeting will conclude with discussions on future plans\, including the preparation of upcoming project proposals.

SUMMARY:Symposium “Together for Healthy and Active Ageing”
DESCRIPTION:Assoc. Prof. Šime Smolić\, PhD\, Country Team Leader of the SHARE study in Croatia\, and Prof. Ivan Čipin\, PhD\, SHARE study Associate\, participated on 28 November 2025 in the symposium “Together for Healthy and Active Ageing.” The symposium is organized within the EATRIS-CONNECT project\, led by Prof. Fran Borovečki\, PhD\, from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine. One of the aims of this project is to promote collaboration among different research infrastructures\, which is why the symposium is being organized in cooperation with the SHARE-ERIC infrastructure\, focused on studying the effects of health\, social\, economic\, and environmental policies on the life course of citizens in Europe and beyond. \nOther institutions from various fields will also be involved in the symposium\, with the aim of ensuring a broad interdisciplinary perspective. Active ageing and health in older age are key challenges of contemporary society. DESCRIPTION:Final conference of the project “SHARE – Survey of Health\, Ageing and Retirement in Europe” was held on June 1\, 2023 in the Crystal Hall of The Westin Hotel. The conference was opened by the Minister of Labour\, Pension System\, Family and Social Policy\, Marin Piletić. Assoc. prof. Ph.D. Šime Smolić\, head of the SHARE project in Croatia\, presented the results of the project\, while associate professor Ph.D. Ivan Čipin\, collaborator on the project\, presented the monograph “Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the lives of the 50+ population”. At the end of the conference\, a panel entitled “Economic\, health and social challenges of demographic aging – insights from the SHARE study” was held\, in which Ivan Vidiš\, associate professor Ph.D. Šime Smolić\, associate professor Ph.D. Ivan Čipin and Ph.D. Predrag Bejaković. Anita Hrstić was the moderator of the panel and also the program manager. SUMMARY:The third workshop within the SHARE project
DESCRIPTION:On April 4\, 2023\, the third workshop as part of the SHARE project was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Labour\, Pension System\, Family and Social Policy in partnership with the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. \nIn the first part of the workshop\, the statistical basics necessary for the analysis of survey data were presented. Introduction to key common concepts that many statistical techniques and models share. In the second and last part of the workshop\, the emphasis was on practical examples in which data from the SHARE database for Croatia were analyzed.

SUMMARY:The second workshop within the SHARE project
DESCRIPTION:On February 14\, 2023\, the second workshop as part of the SHARE project was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Labour\, Pension System\, Family and Social Policy in partnership with the Faculty of Economics and Business in Zagreb. \nThe aim of this workshop was to increase the knowledge and strengthen the analytical abilities of employees in labor market institutions. In the first part of the workshop\, the basic actions and techniques for analyzing survey data were presented. Then\, the basic features of the SHARE database (modules\, generated variables\, special databases\, etc.) were presented. In the second part of the workshop\, the questions from the 6th wave of the study were covered in more detail using the example of the Croatian CAPI questionnaire. In the last part of the workshop\, practical examples were presented in which data from the SHARE database for Croatia were analyzed.
