SUMMARY:SHARE meeting - Wave 9 Post-Field Rehearsal
DESCRIPTION:The SHARE Wave 9 Post-Field Rehearsal (FiRe) will be held online from April 14 to 15\, 2021. FiRe is the final test of the SHARE wave 9 questionnaire before the start of the main field research. \nDuring the testing of this questionnaire\, data were collected based on about 100 telephone interviews in two phases. The first phase included testing of the SHARE Covid-19 questionnaire\, while the second phase included testing of the main SHARE wave 9 questionnaire (2021-2022).

SUMMARY:SHARE Wave 8 Mid-Term Meeting
DESCRIPTION:From 1 to 3 April 2020\, the online SHARE Wave 8 Midterm Meeting was held. The coronavirus pandemic has prompted scientists gathered around the SHARE study to respond quickly to the current situation. As F2F interviews were discontinued from mid-March 2020 for the safety of our respondents\, it was agreed that the effects of COVID-19 would be investigated by telephone interviews lasting 20-25 minutes using the “SHARE Corona” questionnaire.

DESCRIPTION:The Survey of Health\, Aging\, and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) will hold the 6th SHARE User Conference in cooperation with the Budapest Pension Seminar\, Budapest\, Hungary\, on September 19 and 20\, 2019. The title of the conference is “Understanding Ageing Societies“. \nDemographic changes are and will remain one of the main challenges for European societies. The data from the SHARE study represents a unique tool for researching\, describing and understanding the ageing process as well as the lives of people in ageing societies. The importance of the SHARE data can be helpful as an international comparison tool as well as an encouragement factor for the involvement of researchers from various scientific fields.

SUMMARY:Signing of the SHARE financing contract
DESCRIPTION:In the Ministry of Labor and Pension System on June 19\, 2018\, a ceremonial signing of the Grant Agreement to the Ministry of Labor and Pension System – Pension System Administration for the implementation of the project “SHARE – Survey of Health\, Ageing and Retirement” was held. The value of the project is about 10 million HRK. The agreement was signed by Minister of Labor and Pension System Marko Pavić\, Director of the Croatian Employment Service Ante Lončar and Assistant Minister Melita Čičak. \nMinister Pavić reminded that SHARE was launched in 2004 and that the Republic of Croatia is proactively involved in its activities. He stressed that the implementation of this study is a step forward in the modernization of our institutions. \n“In Croatia\, we are preparing a pension reform that will be in the Government procedure in September\, and then in Parliament through two readings and should enter into force on January 1 next year\,” said the Minister\, adding that analyses and data collected by the study SHARE will be of great importance. \nThe Ministry of Labor and Pension System (which is the Managing Authority of the Operational Program “Effective Human Resources 2014-2020”) made a Decision on financing the operation of the Ministry of Labor and Pension System – Pension Administration – “SHARE – Survey of Health\, Ageing and Retirement in Europe” on April 26\, 2018. \nThe aim of the operation is to increase the knowledge and skills of staff in labour market institutions in the field of data collection\, use of data for the design\, adoption and implementation of evidence-based policy measures and the development of national instruments for their evaluation. \nIn addition to the representatives of the Ministry\, Associate Professor Šime Smolić\, PhD\, and Associate Professor Ivan Čipin\, PhD\, from the Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb (Partner in the project)\, and Ms Kathrin Axt from SHARE-ERIC. \nSHARE Survey of Health\, Ageing and Retirement in Europe is a multidisciplinary international panel database on the health\, socio-economic status and social and family ties of more than 140\,000 individuals aged 50 or older. SHARE covers 27 European countries and Israel.
