SHARE Spring 2026 Meeting

From 21 to 24 April 2026, the SHARE meeting will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland. On the first day of the meeting, the focus will be on the exchange of experiences among national teams during the testing phase, as well as on coordinating future activities related to the preparation of Wave 11 of the survey. The second day will feature a workshop dedicated to methodological topics, including issues of response and non-response in the SHARE survey, as well as an overview of tools aimed at reducing participant attrition in longitudinal studies. Part of the workshop will be devoted to group work with the aim of defining the next steps in the further development of SHARE. On the third day, discussions will focus on the final reports for Wave 10 of the survey. Updates related to multimodal data collection and the financial situation of SHARE will also be presented. The meeting will conclude with discussions on future plans, including the preparation of upcoming project proposals.

Symposium “Together for Healthy and Active Ageing”

Assoc. Prof. Šime Smolić, PhD, Country Team Leader of the SHARE study in Croatia, and Prof. Ivan Čipin, PhD, SHARE study Associate, will participate on 28 November 2025 in the symposium “Together for Healthy and Active Ageing.” The symposium is organized within the EATRIS-CONNECT project, led by Prof. Fran Borovečki, PhD, from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine. One of the aims of this project is to promote collaboration among different research infrastructures, which is why the symposium is being organized in cooperation with the SHARE infrastructure, focused on studying the effects of health, social, economic, and environmental policies on the life course of citizens in Europe and beyond.

Meeting “Health and Retirement Studies Around the World (HRS ATW)”

The purpose of the HRS ATW U24 network meeting held from 29 to 30 October 20205 (Aguascalientes, Mexico) is to facilitate ex-ante and continuous harmonization of research design among all international Health and Retirement Study (HRS) surveys. By harmonizing sampling, questionnaire content, and data collection, the resulting data can be used for international comparative analyses that examine how different political, institutional, environmental, social, and cultural factors influence outcomes related to aging and the life course.
